A rhythm of life is a personal framework of “rhythms.” Rhythms are practices, relationships, and patterns that help shape our life journey around the way of Jesus.
As disciples of Jesus, we are invited to model our lives around Him. We believe that Jesus gave us the best example on what it means to live a whole and abundant life through the way He lived, and gave us the the blueprint through the giving of the greatest commandment.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
In sharing the greatest commandment, Jesus offered a blueprint for creating a rhythm of life. Each of these categories - heart, soul, mind, strength, neighbor - serve as a template to help us on our journey to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did.
Through God’s generous love, we get to play a part in our growth in Christ because it won’t “just happen” without our effort. The Holy Spirit goes before us and sustains this work but will not shape us in areas we are unwilling to hand over.
So, as we grow confident in God’s vision for life, our first step is to trust him and commit to follow him with our everyday, normal lives and practices. Rhythms is a tool to help us do just that.
Rhythms Groups are an opportunity to gather with 3 or 4 people around a commitment to join one another in prayer, growth, and accountability toward mission. Click the button below to download a guide to learn more:
