God’s Presence in our Disappointment

In moments of uncertainty, difficulty and pain it is easy to believe that God is absent. It takes faith to remember that we serve a God who is ever present, even when we feel that he is extremely distant. In the story on the road to Emmaus, we read about a real encounter of Jesus pursuing people in the midst of their pain. He was, and will always be, a present God in unprecedented moments.
