Luke emphasizes the Holy Spirit more than any of the other gospels. He has nearly as many direct references to the Holy Spirit in his gospel account, than Matthew, Mark, and John combined. In the opening chapters we see the work of the Spirit explode onto the scene in many ways surrounding the birth of Jesus and the onset of his ministry.
